Ideal Timing Between Different Scar Procedures

MessageAuthor

How long should one realistically wait between different scar treatments? For example, if I do subcision, how long before I can do a laser?

It depends on the intensity of the treatments. For aggressive procedures like subcision or deep laser, most practitioners recommend a healing period of 4-8 weeks before undergoing another significant trauma to the same area. Your skin needs time to remodel and recover. Staggering treatments can often yield better, safer results.

RE: Ideal Timing Between Different Scar Procedures

My specialist’s protocol was subcision, then 6 weeks of healing, then fractional laser. She emphasized that layering treatments too quickly can cause damage and hinder results. In between those major steps, she did a gentle vascular laser treatment at week 4 to reduce background redness, which she said improves the skin’s canvas before the texture work. It made sense. She explained the rationale for the vascular step using info similar to this: https://bellasanamedspa.com/service/laser-spider-vein-removal. The whole process requires patience, but spacing it out properly was key for me.
